How to Resolve: Workflow Instance Cancelled With "Workflow Expired" Message

If you notice that your workflow instance has unexpectedly cancelled, and when viewing the cancelled instance list, you're seeing "Workflow Expired". This could be due to an expiration timer being set. To check whether the worflow has a Workflow Expiration Timer set: 


1. Go the designer for the workflow in question and click on the gear icon.



2. Now, in the Workflow Settings, click on the expiration timer section. Here, you can confirm what the current timer is set to, and you can set it in years, months, or days. Make sure to publish the workflow for any changes to take effect.
