How do I add a back button to my webform?

1. Start with a Worflow, you will need at least 2 tasks if you want to add a back button from page 2 to page 1:

2. Open the webform you wish to add a back button to (not page 1).

3. Look down at the bottom right corner:

  • Hover the CONTINUE button area

  • Select Edit

  • Select Add Button

  • Name it Back

4. Use the Button toggle to align the button to the left or right side of the form.

5. Once your button is made you can go back to the Workflow modeler and you'll see this:

6. Select the Plus Sign Beneath the Back Button and expand the Logic option.

7. Select Link

8. Then select the newly added Link task within the Modeler

9. Select Show Available Connections

10. Then select the point in the workflow that you wish to return to

Here's a workflow example to test out the functionality: Docubee Workflow

In this example, the back button works. Workflows are designed to move forward. Two things to watch out for are:

  1. If you have a Fill & Sign between between your back task and where you are linking back to. You will have burned data on the Fill & Sign already, causing the user to see data already burned and having them fill it out again on top of it. Not an ideal experience and it doesn't look great.

  2. If you have parallel tasks for different users and one user is sent back to a previous state while the other has an active task in their current location.
